Akoya Cultured Pearls | ||||||||||||

Akoya pearls are classics. They come mainly from the coastal regions of Mid and South Japan as well as China and are farmed there in the Pinctada Martensii and Pinctada Fucata oysters. Predominantly symmetrical in shape, their natural colors range from light, pinkish white and delicate cream to champagne and silver grey. Akoya pearls reach sizes of 2 to 11 millimeters, pearls over 9 millimeters are rare and more valuable. | ||||||||||||
